A Study on the Migration of Population by the Markov Chain in Korea

Abstract
In this study, migration in which individuals move through a finite set of states according to a discrete-time Markov Chain Model is considered. In this Model, underlying assumptions are
¥¡) Social structure is closed,
¥¢) The probability function for the observed proportions of the transition probabilities is assumed to have a multinomial distribution, and
¥£) The transition probabilities are constant and homogeneous aver time.
After deriving the maximum likelihood estimates of transition probability(p_ij), limiting structure and stationary probability matrix are studied.
